The Canadian radiation treatment community is committed to providing the best care for patients in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Limited clinical cancer-specific data is available and information is evolving rapidly.  In some instances programs have had to deviate from usual practice and are looking for ways to track clinical deviations to better understand the long-term impact practice change may have on individual patients and populations.  CPQR, with support from colleagues at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, Saint John Regional Hospital, McGill University, the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer have developed a case report form with suggested data elements to help radiation treatment programs prospectively collect radiotherapy patterns of practice  to support local practice.

Today our focus must be on managing care within our centres, however there may be opportunity in the future to pool our results for broader learning.  Using these tools will facilitate population-based analysis, should you be interested in participating at a later date.  Collecting these data now, prospectively, will ensure data accuracy for future applications.
